Description provided by the Developer
TweetsAloud is an application for Twitter that audibly alerts the user about new tweets and their creator, and has an option to read them aloud.
It periodically checks for updates at user-defined intervals (10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes). It can read messages from friends, mentions, and direct messages.
It uses Android™'s Text-To-Speech (TTS) library. It will not talk when your phone is on vibrate or silent, or when you are on a call. It also has a "private mode" option in which the app will only talk if you are not on speakerphone.
For example, a sample alert would be:
5 tweets from 3 friends: CNN Headline News, The Onion, CNN Breaking News
and a sample message read aloud would be:
CNN tweeted Happening now on CNN TV and on CNN.com/Live: Obama holds town hall in Montana to sell health care reform. at 3:00PM
